This is original 9-inch DC electric motor that we installed for the conversion. After some initial testing, we determined that this motor probably wasn't big enough, so we replaced it with a Warp11 11-inch DC motor. The battery rack can be seen just above the motor.
We decided to put the controller, the charger, and other electronic hardware where the gas tank use to be under the driver seat. By putting it here, it was very convenient to access the controller and make adjustments. This location also protected them from outside weather and provided plenty of air circulation to get rid of heat.
This photo shows the final configuration of the charger, controller, and other hardware under the driver's seat.
