The wheels really needed cleaning and painting. If you look very closely, you may note that these are CJ rims, not true M38 rims. After I paint them green, most people will never know the difference. I had to rebuild the hole for the value stems in two of these because they had rusted to almost paper thinness. I welded in fresh steel on the inside of the rims and then redrilled the holes to make sure they were round.
Here the jeep has received 3 coats of OD green paint and is ready for me to start reattaching parts. These rims and tires were a set that came on it but they will be replaced.
Here the engine compartment has been completely cleaned out of all unneeded parts to make room for the electric motor and the battery rack.
