- Green Jeanne is a 1951 Willys M38 I found while trolling the internet.
- Several different individuals had over many years started to do some restoration work, but time and weather were taking their toll.
- I traveled to Oswego, IL, in Nov 2006, and picked up the jeep in pieces and parts, and a stack of manuals and magazines, as well as a brand new wiring harness.
- The picture on the right is Green Jeanne after my high school buddy Mike and I brought her to his house.
- The majority of the jeep is original, but the engine and exhaust system have been replaced with CJ block and exhaust.
- The Green Jeanne currently lies scattered in the "Taj-ma-garage", awaiting further disassembly and inventory of missing items.
- The hunt has begun to acquire originals of the missing pieces and some replacement pieces.
- eBay is great source of parts, and well as a place for price comparison.
- And of course, there is always the need for new tools and equipment.
- I was able to borrow a sand blaster and acquired an air compressor, as the entire jeep needs to be sanded and reprimed.
- Mar 2007 found me traveling to Mississippi to acquire a new engine and axles.
- Aug 2007 I dragged Ellen through 100 degree heat to El Paso, TX, to pick up my spare parts jeep and more spare parts.
- This project is currently on the back burner while I work on Kate's Karriage and Electro-Willys.
