sand blasted body 01

Here I've prepped the jeep for sand blasting out in my driveway. For this conversion, I did not feel like I need to remove the body. Most of the rust I found was only light surface rust, so cleaning it to prepare it for painting was easy.

I was pleased that the floors were not rusted through and even the hatchannels and toolbox were sound and solid. You can see some of the Air Force blue paint under the pale blue paint in this photo.

It's amazing what a coat of primer will do to make a derelict jeep look nice. I primed everything because I had a mix of original paint, Air Force paint, new paint, and bare steel.
